Each day of human life contains joy and anger, pain and pleasure, darkness and light, growth and decay. Each moment is etched with nature's great design; do not try to deny or oppose the cosmic order of things. Always try to be in communion with heaven and earth; then the world will appear in its true light.

Reverends Pamela Hunt-Dixon and Jon Young Dixon offer care and support during life's rites of passage. We offer our services as one officiant or together at no extra charge. Whether a wedding, coming of age, funeral or blessing of the land, all rites are Divine Rites.

What is Interfaith or Non-Denominational?

The Interfaith movement is not new. Nor is it a religion unto itself.  The term interfaith refers to cooperative and positive interaction between people of different religious traditions with the aim of deriving a common ground in belief through a concentration on similarities between faiths.  Interfaith is distinct from mainstream or alternative religion, in that dialogue often involves promoting understanding between different religions to increase tolerance towards others, rather than to synthesize new beliefs.

Non-Denominational services provide a chance for individuals and families who do not belong to any given church, synagogue, or other religious organization, who desire a personalized ceremony or ritual whether of differing faiths joining together or the mere desire that their individual spiritual values be incorporated into the ceremony they require.

Interfaith and Non-Denominational Services can be performed within the Chalice Well Fellowship Temple, out of doors, held at another facility or private home.  The choice is up to the individuals involved.

A Little History

The first interfaith gathering of significance took place in 1893 at the Parliament of the Worlds Religions held in conjunction with the World Columbian Exposition, a conference in Chicago. In the century since, many organizations have been founded and the interfaith movement is growing in numbers, strength and purpose.

Interfaith is the celebration of our connection to the Divine through the diversity of humankind; it is a meeting place, a convergence of our paths, to a place of understanding and respect.  Interfaith sees the universal truths and spiritual compassion of each religion as threads woven together in a vivid tapestry beyond imagination.

With Regard to Services

Rites of Passage are part of everyone's lives and today the human family is more diverse than ever before.  Individuals, couples and whole families are asking to celebrate their joys and sorrows within the interfaith, intercultural and interracial community to which they belong; a place where the light of the Divine shines through unfiltered and love knows no bounds.

Divine Rites
creates interfaith, non-denominational and earth-based weddings, handfastings, baby blessings, coming of age ceremonies, house and land blessings, memorial and funeral services for individuals, partners, families and their pets. Our purpose is to offer the assistance required in order to bridge one set of beliefs; and the traditions and beliefs of another; we strive to assist individuals in achieving the connection to the Divine through whatever words and symbols they find meaningful.
