Honoring the Departed

Birth and death are part of all our lives and both journeys are sacred.  All lives deserve to be honored and remembered, for the benefit of the deceased, and for the loved ones that are left behind.

While no one knows for certain what happens after this life ends, there are many different beliefs and ideas across all cultures and traditions.  All faiths and beliefs are valid, including even the lack of a belief.  It is most important to pay tribute to the deceased in ways that are befitting of how they lived their life. We are all unique.

The eulogy captures the essence of the person.  When we meet to discuss the service there are many questions in order to create a service that honors your loved one.  Some may include:

·         What was important to the individual being honored?

·         What meant the most to him?

·         What are the things she loved to do?

·         What were his greatest achievements?

·         What were some of their ‘favorite things?’

Together we can weave a tapestry that can blanket those who mourn with tenderness, warmth and even humor as appropriate.  This tapestry is created by words, memories, actions and their relationship with others. The celebration of one's life is a beautiful way to say farewell and also bring comfort to loved ones.
